Pets, Home Decor and {Lack of} Work Outs!

Hey everyone!

So for those who don't know, my hamster - Kirby - passed away on Tuesday. He had been going down hill for almost a week, so even though it's hard I'm in a way glad. I had the horrible feeling that he was suffering in some way and even though I technically expected it soon .... still sucks.

Now I'm trying to sell the cage but that area where his cage sat is insanely empty.

Until yesterday.
I went to the dollar store with my mum - after having breakfast with her, my dad nd granny - and saw some great wall art!

I'm not sure if everyone knows what I mean when I say three-piece wall art, but I'll explain. [it's not difficult]
Basically there's a large art piece and it's broken into 3 different frames. You can put the photos together or have them separate.

The one I got isn't exactly as gender neutral as I originally wanted to do. With Matt and I living together I usually try to get stuff that are gender neutral but it's actually hard to do. The only one that was gender neutral was just "too busy" and would give us a headache.

These are just 2 outta the 3 and the only reason why I didn't get the third is because I couldn't find it.

So this week hasn't exactly been great on working out, because last weekend I did a more intense workout and ended up with a very sore lower back mixed with back of my thigh pain. The thigh pain I tried to use A5-35 on it but didn't work. Few days later I took a bath with regular salt [I know epsom salt works better but work with what you have, right?] and that definitely helped.

Next week I'll get back into workouts, maybe do something lax and work my way up.

Goal for next week [this week]
*Work out more - S-T-R-E-T-C-H!!! [ie; more yoga]
*More water - Idk why, but past couple days I haven't drank as much water as usual
*Healthier eating - when we do groceries next week, my goal is to get stuff ready for smoothies

Anyways, I'll keep you all posted about recipes if I find a great smoothies.
I'm trying to work greek yogurt into different ideas.

Dreaming Brings Up Memories

Hey everyone!

Have you guys ever had a dream that sparked a curiosity? Sometimes you knew that curiosity was there but sometimes you didn't realize it was that strong.

I had a dream that I saw someone that I haven't seen in years. I hadn't seen her because no one knew where she went. This was when I left a job in 2009 - just before the bus strike. She was my boss and a lot of rumours went around about what happened, the biggest one was that she had a nervous breakdown.

I had a dream last night that I just ran into her in the store. Now I'm wishing I had her last name to see if she's on facebook.

It's weird how that happens. You have a dream about something and then realize how much you didn't know about that person ....

Anyways, I've decided to do a series of pictures for the blog community of my apartment. I'm doing a video for facebook [mostly because I don't want people coming across this blog and seeing where I live - just not safe, sorry!] but not until nicer weather. It's such iffy weather lately because it's winter.
Ironically, today is beautiful and sunny. Comparing from past few days is beautiful since it was mad snow storms and just grey weather since last Thursday.

Healthy eating is getting better. I saw I was eating really heavy items - pastas, etc - in large portions, especially at night. I have a few things in the fridge that are healthy if you're big on snacking like Matt and I are.

Well that's about it.
If anyone has an idea how to find someone with so little info, that would be great!

iKea turns my boyfriend into a beaver?

Hey people!

Okay so we got a huge iKea bookcase set [the Billy one if anyone is curious which one]

iKea-ture is ridiculous and it took a total of 6hours for Matt to put it together! There's 4 parts to it. 2 large bookcases, one TV stand and one shelf that is to be mounted on the wall between the 2 bookcases.

Heather called Matt a beaver when I tweeted this.

FiNiSHED PRODUCT

Mary Poppins played twice while he worked.
I did a bit of groceries so I wouldn't be in the way.

Actually, that morning we got the iKea stuff, Matt's mum and step-dad came over.

YES!
I got Beaker!

I had posted Beaker singing "Ode to Joy" on my fb and Matt's mum had seen it. Well it's tradition for people to get ornaments for Xmas, so she said that when she went into the store and saw it, she had to get it for me.

Oh gosh, I cannot even explain how happy I was to see/have it!

In other news, I'm trying to get into shape by summer.
Last year I felt so self-conscious about wearing shorts, skirts, swimsuits, etc.
I wasn't able to workout because for a lot of last year I had side pains, so I had to take it easy.

Now I'm trying to eat better, work out a little and just be really toned for summer. I also figure if I start getting healthier, Matt will also.

So for the past few days I've been doing at least half hour of Just Dance 2 - it actually is a work out! I use to do an hour but I figure I'll work my way up there.

XSparkage mentioned about using MyFitnessPal.com [app and site] and saw that it's pretty decent. I found out recently that a couple of my friends are on there. Definitely helps when you have people to motivate you. I'm using the app/site because if I can see where I'm going wrong and how to do this, it'll be better.

If you guys want me to do more updates about my weight loss/healthy eating/etc let me know!

The cutest thing happened recently.
I went to check on Kirby [my hamster] has been sleeping under his water bottle.
Why? I'm not sure. He usually sleeps in his loft.

Anyways, this is long enough.

I shall leave you with a haul video!

New Life On Caffeine?

Hey everyone!

This isn't a mommy blog technically, since technically I'm a mommy.

I have never given birth and technically never adopted, but I have a son.

Who is he?

Angel.
My 6year old cat.

He came on Sunday and he's an extremely nervous cat.
We actually had to board up under the bed because he's been hiding there. I don't want him to be too anti-social but he's getting better. Last night he was out for awhile and being really loving.

But this morning it's a whole new game.

Last night and the night before, he was wandering around meowing. Why? Because he can. Because he misses Storm. Because he hates me sleeping. Because of reasons.

Where is he now? He found his way back under the bed and I'm not thrilled.

Before you think "Why is she just venting about him?" I'll add some cute things he did.

While wandering around and investigating [while Matt and I were awake] he decided to check out the bathroom. From my chair I can see everything, so when he was in the bathroom I was keeping an eye out.
Of course, investigating means "hop in the dry tub" ... I'm not 100% why he did he it but it was kind of hilarious.

Later he went back in the bedroom. Matt and I like to keep an eye on him, just to make sure he's not getting into trouble.
Not under the bed. Not under the desk. Where is he?
Both Matt and I started hunting around. In boxes, behind boxes, even in the closet that was slightly open. He was hiding very well.

So I moved Matt's nightstand more to the wall [I had moved it to get him out earlier] and notice a lump in the bed.
Really?
I lift the blanket slightly and his little furry face peaks back at me with a little 'mew'
Note: Even though he's 6yrs old but sounds like a kitten. He has a very high meow and always has.

He's adorable really.

Actually, he's starting to discover the view we have. 10th floor is a lot different than what he's use to, even if it's not much to see.

So I did a bit of shopping today. I'm going to be doing a haul ASAP and that vid will come on here. I'm really surprised Garage had some shirts I really loved. There was more but those were out of my price range. We'll see if they go on special later.

So excited to do my haul! I'll probably do it later today.

Blog later loves!

Sleep deprived,
